Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Van Andel Institute. We recently updated our program to include defined roles to better communicate what volunteering at VAI is all about!
Descriptions of these volunteer roles are below. Please review them prior to filling out the subsequent form, so we can gauge your interest in certain roles and learn how to best contact you about upcoming opportunities.
Volunteer Ambassadors serve to inform people about Van Andel Institute. These passionate individuals are eager to spread the message of 100% hope at events like Maranda Park Parties and local sporting events. Talking points and informative flyers will be provided in advance.
Volunteer Event Hand
Volunteer Event Hands help by setting up, registering guests, selling raffle tickets or Purple Community merchandise, ushering guests, or serving as a silent auction attendant. Van Andel Institute is involved in over 100 events every year, and Event Hands play a big role in their success.
Weekly Volunteer Team
Every Wednesday, 9 a.m.–12 p.m., we bring in a small volunteer group to help us pack for events and update inventory. If you are looking to get involved on a regular and predictable basis, this is the opportunity for you!
Volunteer Event Lead
Are you looking for leadership positions within your community? If so, the Volunteer Event Lead might be right for you! Volunteers in this position are required to have previous experience as an Event Hand and will help support VAI staff and other volunteers during an event.
